Birds of Juanita Bay

Kirkland, WA 2020-2024

Juanita Bay on Lake Washington is a 110-acre park and protected wildlife habitat. Its wetland meadows and marshes are home to some 200 species of birds, small mammals, reptiles, and amphibians as well as diverse native and introduced plant life. I spend hours each week getting to know the birds, from the pair of nesting Bald Eagles and their offspring to the Wilson's Snipes and elusive Soras that feed along the shore.
